When you use the Dropped Pin application, we may access the following information to deliver core application functionality:
- Location Data (GPS): With your permission, the app accesses your device's precise (fine) and approximate (coarse) location solely while the app is active (foreground). This enables real-time map pinpointing, coordinate display, and location bookmarking. We do not track your location in the background or store your location history on remote servers.
- Saved Pins and Preferences: All bookmarked places, notes, and theme preferences are saved locally on your device via local storage and are never uploaded to our servers.
- Storage & Media Access: When you choose to download or export a QR code PNG, the app writes the generated image to your device's storage or opens the system share sheet.
2. Third-Party Services and Advertisements
The app integrates third-party services that may collect information used to identify your device in accordance with their privacy policies:
- Google Play Services: Core APIs and mapping infrastructure. (Google Privacy Policy)
- Google AdMob: To support free app development, we display banner and interstitial advertisements provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and process device identifiers (such as Android Advertising ID), approximate IP location, and usage data to serve relevant ads. (Google Ads & Privacy)
3. Data Security and Retention
We value your trust. Because your bookmarks and personal notes remain stored entirely on your local device, you maintain full control over your data. You can delete individual saved pins or clear your entire history at any time within the app settings.
4. Children’s Privacy
Our app does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
